This course focuses on the development of implementation methods for sophisticated information processing mechanisms, and explores such mechanisms in human and animal organic systems. Aiming at the creation of new information media and improved human interfaces, the course offers a multidisciplinary curriculum of education and research which broadly covers the areas of intelligent media processing and intelligent software for human-friendly computer systems, as well as cognitive and biological information processing in human and animal brains. Students are welcomed from all over the worlds, who are seeking a master's or doctoral degree in these areas.

Master's course students are required to attend lectures and advanced study seminars, to pass the examination and to submit their master's theses. The 2010 master's course includes lectures on the following subjects:
* Machine Learning
* Speech Processing
* Artificial Intelligence
* Natural Language Processing
* Pattern Recognition
* Perspective in Informatics
* Computer Vision

Some remedial lectures, mainly for students from areas other than informatics, are also provided. The advanced study seminars are provided for all master's students. These seminars provide the opportunity for students to attend seminars by professors other than their own supervisors, attend talks by lecturers from other universities and companies, and gain internship experience in other laboratories and companies. Doctoral students are provided with supervision to guide them in completing their theses and presenting it at top-level conferences and in respected journals. The Intelligence Science and Technology Seminars (IST Seminars) are held approximately once a month to facilitate communication and the exchange of information between international students.

Students of the course will have access to excellent laboratories focusing on diverse fields of research. Despite their diverse areas of focus, the faculty members supervising this course are strongly connected in seeking an answer to the same question: What is intelligence? We welcome students who will join us in seeking an answer to this question through practical experiments, profound discussion and the construction of computer programs of new types.
