In a rapidly developing world of globalization and information technology, more complex issues are arising in the society where we live, demanding to be resolved. The School of Social and International Studies has enhanced its organization to offer a balanced education in interdisciplinary as well as more focused knowledge, by emphasizing the specialist skills required in social science. We offer a program that responds to the diverse and advanced needs of society by strengthening the interdependency and cooperation between the two Colleges of Social Sciences and International Studies. This English program aims to provide discipline-based foundations for insights into cultural, economic, political, social, and information and circumstance technology issues emerging in the era of globalization. It does so with a focus on the comprehensive and multi-disciplinary study of international affairs, including the study of languages other than English and analytical methods drawn from the social sciences and other disciplines. It offers insights into key topics of international social studies and Japanese Studies from a multi-disciplinary approach. The University will make a comprehensive evaluation of applicants on whether each student has proficiency in English and basic academic ability to acquire knowledge in his or her major field of study as well as having a unique perspective and analytical ability to solve various problems in modern society based on submitted documents. The University of Tsukuba student support scholarship "Tsukuba Scholarship" is provided for the undergraduate English Program. The details of the scholarship are as follows and the following scholarships are provided based on the results of entrance examinations, etc., from among the successful applicants. Class 1: Total amount of 900,000: Travel expense of 100,000 and 100,000 per month (100,000 will be paid per month for eight (8) months in the first year).
Class 2: Total amount of 580,000: Travel expense of 100,000 and 60,000 per month (60,000 will be paid per month for eight (8) months in the first year).
