Summary / This program sets the following three goals: (1)Internationalization of human resources development / This program will provide promising young people from around the world with opportunities to participate in the human resources development program designed by this school. (2)Bridging Japan and the international community / While reviewing, from an international perspective, the historical development of Japan's political and economic policy, this program will provide ideal models, theories, and methods that will contribute both to the designing of domestic and international systems for better footing of a particular country in the international society and to the formation of an international community that can meet the expectations of countries, regions and national communities. (3)Realization of a world-standard educational environment / This program will provide an international educational environment so that both Japanese and international students can actively contribute to the global world in the future. For this purpose, this program will open a door to current Japanese students to have more opportunities for communication among themselves and with international students. These opportunities will enable international students to deepen their understanding of Japan, and Japanese students to learn about different cultures.
Curriculum (Degrees: Bachelor of Political Science, Economics or Global Political Economy)
(1)Global politics and economy affecting Japan / Students will study not only the history, systems and theories of Japanese politics and economy, but also political and economic development and analysis methods of global politics and economy from a broader perspective of Asia and the international community in order to understand Japan within the international academic framework. (2)Political science and economics / In the first year, students will be required to learn the basic theories of these two fields to prepare themselves for an advanced course. Students will also go through various subjects of applied science so that their needs for advanced study will be met. (3)Political and economic analysis methods Students will study statistics, mathematical analysis, game theories, and other subjects essential to the quantitative and objective analysis of political and economic phenomena, information-processing, and leading-edge subjects such as experimental political science and economics. (4)Externship / In addition to the internship fieldwork already incorporated into the curriculum, students will serve an externship at various workplaces in cooperation with Tomon Seikeikai, the alumni association of the school. This externship program ensures opportunities for international students to directly experience actual Japanese society.
