Tohoku University established the Graduate School of Life Sciences in April 2001. The school focuses on advanced life science research as part of a holistic approach emphasizing ethics. This approach is expected to have a powerful appeal for international students from around the world.
The Graduate School of Life Sciences will launch the program 'International Course of Life Sciences' starting from the spring semester, 2010. Brilliant foreign students are welcomed. We offer an English education program covering wide range of biological phenomena; i.e., from molecules, cells, organisms to global ecosystems. Internationally active life science experts with forefront knowledge and firm ethics are expected after participating in the program. Master degree, normally takes 2 years, and Ph.D degree, normally takes 5 years (including 2 years of the master course), will be obtained.
The course comprises three sub-courses:
Biomolecular Sciences
Developmental Biology and Neurosciences
Environmental Life Sciences
