Q : I would like to apply for a scholarship.

There are four types of scholarships available

  1. 1) Scholarships offered by the individual universities

  2. 2) Scholarships offered by the Japanese government (MEXT)

  4. 4) Scholarships offered by private foundations

Q : Are there any short-term programs, such as for 1 semester, 2 semesters or 1 year?

A : The G30 project focuses on degree programs in English and not on short term programs such as student exchanges. You may wish to redefine your search with JASSO (Japan Student Service Organization) to find other academic institution and programs to meet your objective of study.

Q : Are there any specific qualification or exam scores, such as SAT, IELTS, EJU etc. required in order to apply to a G30 Project member university?

As application requirements for degree programs offered by G30 Project member universities differ from one institution to another, we advise you to first identify the institution/degree programs you wish to pursue in Japan, and then contact the university of your interest to consult your case. Q : Is it possible to start studying at a university from fall?

A : Yes, there are some member universities that adopt an autumn admission. 
We advise you to first identify the institution/degree programs you wish to pursue in Japan, and then contact the university of your interest to consult your case.

Q : What type of visa do I need? How can I get a student visa?

Q : Is it possible to select a degree in a different field of study from my current degree?

A : There is no problem in selecting a different field of study. However, please note that to acquire a higher degree in a new field, there may be some specific requirement criteria, and as application requirements for degree programs offered by G30 Project member universities differs from one institution to another. Therefore, we advise you to first identify the institution/degree programs you wish to pursue in Japan, and then contact the university of your interest to consult your case.

Q : I would like to know the process for entry to a university.

A : As application requirements for degree programs offered by G30 Project member universities differs from one institution to another. Q : Does the G30 project accept students with Japanese nationality?

Q : Does the G30 project accept students attending or have graduated from an international high school in Japan?

A : Yes, some member universities accept students from international high schools in Japan.

Q : Are there any courses related to Art, Animation or Film Production available at the G30 member universities?

A : Unfortunately, the member universities of the G30 Project do not offer any course related to Art, Animation or Film Production. You may wish to redefine your search with the Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO) to find the best suited course to your interest. Please refer to the list of courses offered by JASSO.


Q : I would like to study Medicine at a Japanese medical school.

A : Among the courses provided by the G30 project member universities, University of Tsukuba offers a variety of courses in the field of medical research including the bachelor degree course "International Undergraduate-Education Program for Medical Scientists"
